Part of Lancaster for over 30 years
Down to Earth has deep roots in this city. The shop is now owned and loved by Hannah Lingwood, who has lived and worked in Lancaster for seven years and is proud to call it home.
"I first worked here after I left university, and it felt like a natural step to take over when Maggie was looking to sell. I have a real passion for design and have always wanted to run my own shop — I love finding the perfect gift for customers from all the beautiful things we have on our shelves.
Now in our second decade, with my mum Annie and husband Chris on board, we're excited about where Down to Earth goes next. We're sourcing exciting jewellery designers and unusual craft from all corners of the world."

It's vitally important to us that the people who make what we sell — and the places they live — are never exploited. We choose suppliers who have genuine, personal relationships with their makers, and many actively improve the lives of the people they work with: paying advances so small businesses can buy equipment, build sustainably, and grow without debt.
