Anna Roebuck is a UK-based mixed media artist and jeweller who has worked as a freelance maker for 18 years, specialising in jewellery created from recycled and reclaimed materials. Her fascination with reuse began during her Fine Art Tapestry training at Edinburgh College of Art in the 1990s, and in 2001 she founded Bags2riches — transforming everyday waste, particularly plastic bags, into jewellery, lighting, and artwork.
Her current jewellery work centres on two distinctive ranges. Nocean uses recycled plastic bottles donated by her local community, coloured using her own specialist techniques to create bold, contemporary designs that are light and easy to wear. Out of Line is made from etched aluminium with an acrylic infill, based on her own illustrations exploring the environment and industrial heritage — a range that grew from a heritage project at Stanton Ironworks in Ilkeston.
Anna makes her jewellery from The Making House, her home and studio in Burton on Trent, where she also runs workshops and a regular Craft Club. Her process is eco-friendly throughout, using salt-based etching solutions and finding ways to reuse waste at every stage.
